Disney World Visitor’s $60,000 Bet

A few videos posted on social media appear to show that a Walt Disney World visitor leaped into the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot.

A man who appeared to be identified as @elit3trainers was shown in a video uploaded on TikTok on Tuesday by Brandon Reiter, who goes by @saulbrandonreiter on the app. The man was seen jumping off a small bridge into the water.

It seems from Reiter’s caption that the man was doing it to win a big bet. The caption above the video says, “Guy jumps into freezing cold Epcot Disney water for sixty thousand dollars.”

The man can be seen in the video clambering over the railing of a tiny bridge inside the Italy pavilion of the World Showcase. He can hear other guests yelling at him off-camera.

“You’re building a crowd! You’ve gotta go,” one person yells.

He turns sideways, jumps in feet first, swims to the side, climbs over a gondola, and eventually finds the exit stairs.

At that point, there was a shout from another guest: “Make a run for it!” And then “run, run, run!” It’s unclear, though, if there was a chase or if the visitor was later led out of the park.

Another video has emerged showing the visitor climbing out over the gondola while the person recording yells, , “You’re getting banned for life, homie!”

This wasn’t the first time someone had broken Disney policy and had to deal with the repercussions, even though it was an extremely shocking display.

Rebel Wilson, star of Pitch Perfect, received a 30-day Disney ban for capturing a picture in an area where it was prohibited.  “I took a photo in a secret bathroom inside Disneyland, which is illegal…and I got officially banned for 30 days,” Wilson shared on The Daily Show earlier this year.
